South Shaker is within minutes of the grand theaters of Playhouse Square, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center, Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Case Western University and Severance Hall, home of the Cleveland Orchestra. Cleveland and surrounding areas also have thousands of acres of parks including the Shaker Lakes and Emerald Necklace.
Based on the 2011 “Putting Artists on the Map”, 40.8 % of artists in South Shaker practice the visual arts. There are a high number of musicians at 15.8 % followed by a smaller number of people involved in craft (10.8%), interdisciplinary (7.5%), literary arts (7.5%), design (4.2%), media (3.3%), theater (2.5%) and dance (1.7%).

Established in 1966, the Spanish American Committee for a Better Community is a response by the Hispanic/Latino community of Cleveland to take ownership of the key issues impacting our community and to provide leadership in addressing those issues. The Hyacinth Lofts make up a live/work building with 51 unique suites. It is home to many artists from various fields, but targets those in film and music. It offers amenities such as two soundproof editing suites for all residents and soundproof rehearsal/editing suites in select units, Black-box space with a ‘green-screen’ and an available projection screen.
Based on the 2011 “Putting Artists on the Map”, the majority of artists in St. Hyacinth are interdisciplinary at 40 %. The visual arts follows at 30 % followed by music and craft each at 10 %.

Though Strongsville is mostly known for SouthPark Mall, the neighborhood has a number of arts organizations. Arts In Strongsville focuses on the promotion and preservation of the arts by providing opportunities for arts education, promoting facilities for the arts and encouraging broad-based community interest in the arts. Strongsville Community Theatre produces serious dramas, literate comedies, family favorites, mysteries, thrillers and musicals within seasons filled with diversity, inspiration and art.
The majority of artists living in Strongsville are visual at 54 %. Also making up a large percentage of the artists in the neighborhood are designers and media artists, each at 15.4 %. Interdisciplinary and teaching artists make up 7.7 % of the total artist population.
