To offer artists, writers, performers, and others: studios, time, and resources for pursuing their range of expression, for experimenting, for developing projects, but most of all, for distilling the promise and potential of their creative enterprise, while working and living in a rural environment. ArtistShare, founded by Brian Camelio, is a platform that connects creative artists with fans in order to share the creative process and fund the creation of new artistic works.  ArtistShare created the Internet's first fan funding  platform.

The Bemis Center for Contemporary Art offers residencies and exhibition opportunities. The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is a nonprofit museum in Wisconsin that offers a number of residency programs, including a unique collaboration between artists and industry.

The Millay Colony for the Arts offers residencies and workshops in a number of disciplines. The colony is located in New York about 2.5 hours away from NY city.

Neighborhood Connections is an innovative, nationally recognized community-building program established in 2003, with a mission to fuel the power of neighbors to create, together, an extraordinary world right where they live.

Northeast Shores is the community development organization serving North Collinwood, one of the strongest artist communities in the country. The community includes Waterloo Arts, an organization that creates a stimulating arts environment through quality exhibits, performances, special events and educational programming for people of all ages. Collinwood also has an Entertainment District which is home to an eclectic mix of indie music venues and art galleries. It is the perfect place for artists young and old to launch their career or expand their practice.

North Collinwood has a mix of artists in the craft (7.5%), design (7.5%), interdisciplinary (7.5%), literary (5.7%), music (5.7%) and theater arts (7.5%) – all between five and eight percent of the total.
