Alternating Currents
CPAC: How did you get introduced to your craft? What made you choose it as a profession?
Randall: A chance meeting with artist Gary Dumm when I was fifteen (Gary Dumm of “American Splendor” / Pekar fame). This encounter caused me to try my hand and discover my innate talent.

CPAC: What are some things that have influenced you or your work?
Randall: Everything is grist for the mill – classical music, art history, movies and also the environment in which I live. Also local artists and the free expression of their ideas.

CPAC: How do you generate new ideas?
Randall: I don’t know. It comes from the inspiration I find in other work. Ideas happen through intuition in spontaneous bursts.

CPAC: Why have you chosen Cuyahoga County as a place to live and work?
Randall: I have lived here all my life. This environment has been integrated in my vision and reflected in my work.

CPAC: What is your favorite place, event, or “hidden gem” in greater Cleveland?
Randall: West 78th Street Studios; Cleveland Institute of Music Wednesday night concerts; Artist Archives of the Western Reserve, Arts Collinwood
