CPAC: Who or what has influenced you locally and elsewhere?
Sarah: Huge list here. To name one author, or two dozen, would be to ignore too many others. I love books with believable characters, strong voices and compelling stories.

CPAC: How do you generate new ideas?
Sarah: I dream, day and night. I ask “What if?” I listen to people tell me stories. I read. I walk in the woods. I hear voices. I write and see what happens—looking for what might come from somewhere inside me that I least expected to find.

CPAC: What is the hardest part about creating?
Sarah: Everything else I could be doing.

CPAC: What is the best moment you have had creating or presenting your work?
Sarah: I don’t like to answer “best” questions. I’ve had wonderful moments creating and presenting. It would take hours to tell you those that left me grinning until my cheeks hurt.

CPAC: Why have you chosen Cuyahoga County as a place to live and work?
I was born here. I have friends here. This is my town.

What is your favorite place, event, or “hidden gem” in Cuyahoga County?
Sarah: There’s not just one. The Cleveland Botanical Gardens is spectacular. Case Western Reserve’s Squire Valley View Farm is certainly a hidden gem— don’t tell anyone! Parade The Circle. Doan Brook and the ravine along North Park in Cleveland Heights. The Shaker Lakes Nature Center. The Cleveland Public Library. Loganberry Books on Larchmere.
