Cleveland Shakespeare Festival Auditions

Auditions: Saturday, March 28. 1:00 - 4:00 pm​ & Monday, March 30​, 6:30 - 9:30 pm​
Callbacks (invitation only) will be held Wednesday, April 1 from 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Auditions for "Animal"

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, March 24th and Wednesday, March 25th from 7-9pm
Callbacks (if necessary) will take place on March 27th from 7-9pm
All auditioners are asked to come prepared to cold read from the script. We also ask that you bring a current headshot and resume with you to auditions.

Auditions for "Pack of Lies"

Auditions: April 6th & 7th at 7 p.m.
Auditions will take place at Workshop Players Theater, 44820 Middle Ridge Road Amherst, Ohio 44001
Director Brad Sales is looking to cast 5 females and 3 males.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

2020-2021 Season Greystone Auditions

Auditions will be held at the Greystone Hall theatre (103 S High Street, Akron) on Sunday, April 19, 6:00-10:00pm. and Monday, April 20, 6:00-10:00.
Auditions must be scheduled, no walk in appointments.

Actors may request an audition by submitting a headshot and resume to tess@ohioshakespeare.com and please include in the subject line: Ohio Shakes Greystone season auditions. Actors may request a particular time and will be scheduled in the closest available slot. Video auditions, though not encouraged, may be submitted to tess@ohioshakespeare.com.

Prepare 2 contrasting monologues, no longer than 3 minutes in total length OR a monologue and 16 bars of a song. (A cappella; no accompaniment for open auditions; accompaniment will be provided at invited callbacks for Cinderella and Sleepy Hollow only.)

Up to three AEA contracts available for each production. All non-union actors paid a stipend determined by size of role, length of commitment, and number of years spent working with the company.

Ohio Shakes 2020 Summer Season Auditions

Open Auditions will be held at Greystone Hall (103 S High Street, Akron) on Sunday March 29th, 12:00-4:00pm and Monday March 30, 6:00-10:00pm. No walk ins, please.

Actors may request an audition time by submitting a headshot and resume to tess@ohioshakespeare.com, and please include in the subject line: Ohio Shakes Summer Season Auditions. Actors may request a particular time frame, and will be scheduled in the closest available slot. Video auditions, though not encouraged, may be submitted to tess@ohioshakespeare.com.

Prepare 2 contrasting Shakespeare monologues, no longer than 3 minutes in total length OR a scene to read from MIDSUMMER or OTHELLO. (Reader provided, scene need not be memorized.)

Auditions for "Newsies"

Auditions: Sunday, March 22 at 7 PM & Monday, March 23 at 7 PM
Attend prepared with 32 bars of song in style of show.
Attend prepared with 32 bars of contrasting song or best musical theatre audition piece.
Accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in correct key.
Those auditioning for Katherine and all Newsies will have to dance. Be prepared to dance and bring tap shoes if you own them.
Adult roles will not have to participate in the dance call.
All genders will be considered for Newsies and most roles.

Auditions for CPT's Student Theatre Enrichment Program (STEP)

Students are selected to be a part of STEP through an audition process. There are three opportunities to audition (dates below):
March 7, Saturday, 1 – 4PM; March 14, Saturday, 1 – 4PM; March 15, Sunday, 1 – 4PM
Auditions are onsite at CPT (6415 Detroit Avenue) and facilitated by CPT and STEP staff members. 
Must be 14 – 19 yrs. old (Cuyahoga County residents)

Auditions for "Chicago"

Auditions: Friday, March 13, 2020, 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 14, 2020,1:00 p.m. in the Corning Auditorium
Callbacks on Sunday, March 15, 2020 beginning at 12:00 p.m. in Room 212 – by invitation only

Requirements:

  • Appointments Needed – 5-minute time-slots; Call Ann Hedger at 440-951-7500 x103 to make your appointment.
  • Come prepared with a standard Musical Theatre song, in the same style as the show – preferred. Bring sheet music in the proper key. An accompanist will play for all auditionees.
  • You may also be asked to read a short monologue from the script.
  • Bring a detailed list of your conflicts beginning April 5, 2020. This includes any school activities/events, sports activities/events and classes you may be taking that would cause you to miss a scheduled rehearsal. All cast members must be available for tech week (May 31-June 4, 2020) and for all performances, including the daytime senior matinee performance.
  • Please bring a head-shot (school picture or snap shot will do).
  • Resumes will be accepted (not required)

Auditions for "Mamma Mia"

Auditions: Sat., March 14 from 1 - 4 pm & Sun., March 15 from 2 - 5 pm & Sat., March 21 from 2 - 4 pm (also call-backs)
Location: St. Peter School 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain 44053; Sign-in at the School Gym

Those auditioning will be asked to sing a 32 bar cut in a vocal selection that reflects the style of the show. Bring your sheet music in the proper key. Auditions will not be permitted with any electronic accompaniment nor in acapella format. Dress for movement, as a dance sequence will be taught.
All roles are open, and we are in search of a multi-generational cast of performers, ages 10 and up.
