CLE Temporary Art Exhibition Program has issued a call for artists for its upcoming juried exhibition, “The Art of Realism.” Realism is the precise, detailed and accurate representation in art of the visual appearance of scenes, objects, portraits, etc. The subject of the paintings looks real rather than being stylized or abstracted. Only when examined closely will it appear to be a series of brushstrokes of many colors and hues. This exhibition seeks to show the art style of realism where the subject of the painting looks much like the real thing. The subject matter is open and can range from landscapes, still life, portrait, etc. Oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, graphite, charcoal, pastel, and egg tempera media are eligible for this exhibition. Photography, collage, sculpture, assemblages, and computer-generated images are not eligible.
There is no cost to participate. Artists interested in submitting must complete the entry form and submit any digital samples by:
